The model studies daily closes, not headlines. It goes long only when the last 30 days are up and price is above the 20-day average. Size is min(30%, 1% ÷ 20-day daily volatility), then scaled so the five weights never exceed 100% of the $1,000 paper book. Yesterday's close decides today's position, so the score cannot peek at the future. Each trade pays 0.10%.
Built from the results that keep surviving new samples: time-series momentum at a horizon of weeks (Liu & Tsyvinski, Review of Financial Studies, 2021; Moskowitz, Ooi & Pedersen, Journal of Financial Economics, 2012) and volatility scaling (Moreira & Muir, Journal of Finance, 2017). A 2024 design search found most other crypto factors do not hold up (Fieberg et al.). Hourly momentum tends to reverse, so this book does not scalp.
